The Beirut Creators project, implemented in collaboration with the SHiFT organization, aims to support young media creators and influencers in contributing to trust-building, cohesion, and stability in their societies. The project seeks to help young people represent their communities on a local, regional, and national stage. It generates inclusive and diverse content that covers community issues and generates new knowledge, focusing on youth narratives, counter-scripts, and subcultural media representation.
Through this project, 100 young women and men were able to increase their knowledge and skills on content creation, gender awareness, and how to address discrimination issues while also learning how to combat misinformation, disinformation, and hate speech narratives. Additionally, the project supports the establishment of safe spaces where young people benefit from fully- equipped studios, materials, and mentoring sessions to create inclusive content.
The project was successful in producing a total of 40 videos that covered rights-related issues of concern in their community. These videos are being shared on social media, reaching over 1 million people.
